Gas detection systems

Depending on the type of gas they are built to detect, gas sensors are divided on two main types – for explosive and for toxic gasses.

Some explosive gases are: methane, hydrogen, propane-butane, oxygen, acetylene, etc.

Some toxic gases are: carbon oxide, carbon dioxide, ammonia, etc.

Moreover, the gas detectors can be conventional or addressable, depending on the type of system they are designed to work with.

There are also consumer gas sensors, which are designed to alarm the people in a residential environment of leaks, such as propane-butane in kitchens or carbon oxide in garages.
